Hi global studies family! What a fun and quick day. You are doing a fantastic job of keeping your notes organized and completed, keep it up. You'll need the materials you're compiling now in order to be successful for our upcoming unit final. In the meantime, here's what we accomplished today:
Learning Targets:
Learning Targets:
- I can explain how culture both reflects and shapes society.
- I can explain multiple perspectives and viewpoints.
- I can communicate effetively, both verbally and in writing.
- I can analyze the arguments in favor and against the Mexican American Studies program in the Tucson Unified School District.
- RAP: Students opened class today with another round of culture bags. I particularly loved learning how students adopted and departed from family tradition and paths. Keep up the good work everyone!
- Main Stage: We continued watching the documentary Precious Knowledge about the Mexican American Studies Program in Tucson Unified School District. Students completed their guided notes sheet, and then began tracking the arguments for and against the program on a separate piece of paper. All of these notes will be needed to successfully complete the upcoming argumentative paper. If you missed class, you have the option of checking the documentary out through me or working with a classmate to discuss and review notes.
- Closing: Completing the guided notes!
