Hi economics classes! We are quickly rushing toward the end of our first unit. Be sure to complete any missing or outstanding work and turn in on Canvas!
Learning Target:
Learning Target:
- I can self-direct my learning
- I can demonstrate an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of various economic systems.
- I can define what an economic system is and deeply describe one in particular.
- RAP: To open class, I reviewed a series of responses from #NoDAPL exit tickets that students completed last week. I also asked students to reflect on these responses, and asked them to consider "Who or what is to blame for #NoDAPL?" Students reviewed a cartoon, watched a short video from Tom Goldtooth, and reviewed their definition of Capitalism.
- Main Stage: Next we began to learn more about economic systems. Students first took 10 minutes worth of Cornell notes in order to define the basic terms we'll be more deeply exploring. Then students received a specific economic system that they are in charge of "representing" at the end of class. Students completed this graphic organizer in order to more deeply understand their character.
- Closing: To end class, students then met one another while in character and then completed their graphic organizers.
