Hi class! I'm glad to be back with you today. Friendly reminder that grades are due in one week. Be sure to turn in any missing or outstanding work! Also, SBAC testing will take place March 20th-23rd, meaning that after grades are due I will not see you for two weeks. Yikes. We'll be sure to wrap up our unit before then so we can start fresh when you come back from Spring Break!
Learning Target:
Learning Target:
- I can self-direct my learning
- I can demonstrate an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of various economic systems.
- I can evaluate the four economic systems in the world today using evidence.
- RAP: To open class we reviewed the major characteristics of Traditional, Capitalism, Mixed, and command economic systems, and then discussed today's essential question: How do we measure the success of an economic system?
- Main Stage: We added to our Cornell notes "Evaluating Economic Systems" and reviewed the major ways we measure the success, the strengths and weaknesses, of economic systems. After taking notes, students then spent some time reviewing actual data from the CIA World factbook and recording their findings using this graphic organizer.
- Closing: To summarize our findings, students wrote compare and contrasting reflections and uploaded their responses on Canvas.
