Hi everyone! Thanks for turning in all your late and missing work before my deadline. If you have any questions about your grade, please come see me. I am available during 7th and 8th period, and of course can meet during lunch.
Also, our final for this unit will be a socratic seminar next Tuesday. We will review the reading in class on Friday to prepare. If you will be out of class, please see me so we can arrange an alternative plan.

Also, our final for this unit will be a socratic seminar next Tuesday. We will review the reading in class on Friday to prepare. If you will be out of class, please see me so we can arrange an alternative plan.
Learning Targets:
- I can explain the impacts of nationalism and revolutionary movements.
- I can reflect on the process of youth direct action.
- RAP: Students started class by completing an entrance ticket in response to the question: "What do you want to see changed at WHS? What issues matter to you? What would you be willing to walkout for?" Students used responses to discuss in groups and come to an agreement on a single proposal.
- Main Stage: Next, students then presented their proposals to one another in an effort to identify 1-2 clear demands or goals. Once students came to this agreement, then we began to plan the direct action. Students split into 5 different groups, each with a role and responsibility related to the direct action. Afterward, each group presented their work and progress with one another before finally voting again whether or not to take action.
- Closing: To end class, rather than take action, students reflected on the process with an exit ticket. Students identified what worked, and did not work about the process and discussed why direct action organizing is difficult.
