Hi Global Studies Families!
I trust and hope everyone is keeping warm and cozy with family and friends and taking some time to enjoy these unusually snowy past few days. I planned to send out an update this weekend, but the snow days have allowed me to catch up with grading sooner than expected.
We are fast approaching the end of first semester. Wow. The amount of planned days off between November and December always make first semester feel fast. However the additional seven snow days have made this semester feel like quite a whirlwind. Below are a few notes I would like you and your students to know. Please check in with them about their progress in class when you have the chance. The semester will end in just over three weeks. This means your students only have three more weeks to complete our upcoming work, address any missing assignments, and meet with me to discuss any outstanding concerns toward their final semester grades.
As always, let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I too am frustrated with the amount of school we’ve missed this year, but I am still committed to doing my best to ensure your students learn and feel successful in class and at school.
All my best,
Matt

- Right before this most recent snow storm, we launched into a new and quick unit about forms of government. Students should be ready to hand-in their reflection from our in class discussion next week.
- After learning about the various forms of government, we will begin our semester final that will include an argumentative essay due during Finals Week (January 30th - February 3rd).
- Grades are up to date and current in Synergy. Please check the grades and let me know if you have any questions. If the semester ended today, this would be their final grade for the semester.
